A delegation of nearly thirty adults and children
went to Normandy to join in
the May Day celebrations with St Georges Montcocq. The week-end began
with a warm welcome from our French hosts - many of the twinners have known their French families for twenty years and have
shared many family celebrations together.
On May Day bunches of lily of the valley are given to bring good luck. A celebration dinner took place in the village hall on Saturday evening when we were entertained to a sumptuous meal and music. Sunday was a glorious day and we all boarded a coach to visit Normandy’s equivalent of the National Motor Museum. A picnic lunch was followed by a very interesting visit and tasting session at a Calvados distillery. |
